YOU ARE HERE
Glossier You: Pop-Up Experience & Campaign Concept
Self-initiated concept, 2026 · Experiential, Retail, Packaging, Print, Brand Identity
The Brief (self-set)
Glossier You is designed to sit close to the skin and react with each wearer’s chemistry. No two people wear it quite the same way. I wanted to design a physical experience that makes that idea tangible, gives people a reason to linger and share, and sends them home with something worth keeping. It needed to feel unmistakably Glossier: human, playful, and inclusive, never prescriptive.
The Insight
Most personality-driven beauty experiences end with a label: you’re a this. Glossier’s voice resists boxes. So instead of a type, I gave visitors a location, something that describes where you are today, not who you have to be forever.
The Concept
Maps are a universal language for finding yourself, literally and figuratively. “You Are Here” borrows that vocabulary (pins, routes, legends, districts, passports) and reframes it around beauty. The guiding line is you can belong to more than one district, and your route can change next time. Wherever it takes you, the final stop is Glossier You.
The Experience
Locate yourself: At the entrance, a short quiz kiosk “drops your pin” and prints a personalized fold-out map with your route highlighted. The map doubles as your shopping list.
The districts: Four booths, each a different Glossier personality: 1. Skin Only 2. Skin First, Makeup Second 3. Makeup is Play 4. Scent First. Visitors stamp their passport at each stop.
Wayfinding: Wayfinding and floor routes, booth headers, and a legend explaining each district guide people through the space.
The photo moment: A giant, puffy “You Are Here” arrow outside the pop up structure, for visitors to stand beneath.
The Design System
Color: Glossier’s signature pink as the ground, the red as the “pin,”.
Type: The Glossier wordmark anchors the brand, paired with retro travel-inspired lettering for stickers and souvenirs, the hand-made counterpoint to the clean system.
Architecture: The exterior turns the wordmark into a dimensional facade, like the Melrose store. Inside, rounded vanities, mirrors, and soft-textured panels complete the recognizable Glossier vibe.
Take-Home Pieces
Passport to My Scent: The fragrance sample is packaged as a passport. It unfolds into a map of Glossier locations, with the vial itself labeled “You Are Here.”
Sticker sheet: Travel souvenirs with Glossier wit (“Blush More,” “Born for Moisturizer,” “Don’t Get Lost”) for passports, laptops, and suitcases.
Product cards: Campaign cards pairing the bottle with its notes: pink pepper, iris, and ambrette.
Goodie bag: The signature pink bag, holding everything from the visit.
Process & Tools
I developed the spatial concept for the exterior and interior using AI image generation, iterating on form, materials, and layout. Bag and goodies inside were designed with mockups from Creative Market, and then applying my own designs. The software I used was Firefly, Claude, Illustrator and Photoshop.
